Remember if you move the lever to the right you allow the drum to spool so be careful nothing is half way up the ramp without chocks!Remember also that if in doubt just let go of the lever ...it will apply the brake for you automatically.
Lets go through this again this time with the motor running. Referring to the Electrical panel you will see a main switched isolator. If this is on you will see three LED's illuminated on the box to the right.See Image Left
Notice also the switch to the right. This is for the main motor contactor. When you switch this on the motor will start and the chain will be driven.Note that no power is transmitted to the drum as the lever is held against the brake. You will also see a 4th Led illuminated to signify the motor is on although the noise will qualify this!
With an extra pair of hands grab hold of the end of the cable and start pulling it from the drum.At the same time move the lever to the mid position ie just off the brake.Do not pull it hard clockwise or you will start reeling it in!!Just enough to release the brake.
Pull the cable from the drum and connect to whatever at the bottom of the ramp.Preferably around somthing solid such as a towbar...no dont use the bumper!!
With the wire connected GENTLY move it further clockwise to apply take up to the drum. With practice you can slip this like a clutch to keep the wire taut.
Pull it harder clockwise to start pulling up the ramp.Make sure that if its a launch vehicle they do not drive it up and run over the wire.If the launch vehicle can continue to pull then get the launch vehicle to stop and chock the wheels or apply the foot brake.
Then move the lever to the mid position to allow the drum to freespool and release the cable from the object.Once its free then hard clockwise to reel in any slack cable.
Be extra careful with the wire..it can tear your hands to pieces.Preferable to wear gloves if possible.
When finished shut off the switch for the motor and turn off the main isolator.Bear in mind that the main isolator also feeds the two sockets on the control panel so this may need to be left switched on.Seek advice if not sure or if there are no other cables connected then shut it off.
If its a boat trailer only then pull it up to the top of the ramp and chock the wheels before removing the rope.
DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE BEHIND THE OBJECT BEING RETRIEVED AT ANY TIME.SEEK ASSISTANCE IF NOT SURE.
This device is extremely powerful due to the reduction gear and motor HP.
If in doubt refer to a club officer.
