Was attempted at Allhallows even before the Yacht Club was formally founded in 1965.
Jim Long and Dave Coleman were the intrepid pioneers, somehow managing to ski behind a homemade wooden dinghy powered by a Gale outboard motor. Recreational skiing was the norm then and has always been popular at Allhallows, with it's sheltered bays and inlets along the estuary providing entertaining conditions for beginners and experts alike.
The first club competitions were held in 1967 and with ski racing beginning to evolve, the first club racing series kicked off in 1970. Progress was swiftly made ,first with open open races and then to national races, culminating in Allhallows Yacht Club being chosen as one of the three venues in the U.K to host the first ever world water ski racincing championships in 1979.
Allhallows Yacht Club has continued to host a national championship water ski race with great success every year since then.
